Challenged by a brand identity that communicates a strong association
with its past, The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance
Company (HSB) wanted to leverage their web site to reflect a more
contemporary image and business strategy. In addition, the company
wanted to build a web foundation upon which to add new online client
services over time.
Corporate Voice conducted a strategic review and analysis of HSB
to identify an optimal brand message to position the company as
a knowledge leader in specialty reinsurance and risk management.
A user-centric information architecture and resulting design were
created that conveyed the primary attributes of the company which
included its long history and deep roots in engineering, its ability
to effectively apply knowledge along with their the company’s
technology prowess.
To carry the initial message over time, Corporate Voice also codified
a set of website guidelines to centrally house the sites’
assets and document the artistic details of the site.
